3 | Remove oil pan | ||
4 | Remove camshaft position sensor (1) | Installation: Use new O-rings (2) and lubricate lightly. Push in camshaft position sensor (1) all the way into timing case (5). | |
5 | Remove flywheel | ||
6 | Remove radial seal (9) from timing case (5) | ||
7 | Remove screw/bolts (6) | | |

8 | Remove timing case (5) | Installation: When replacing timing case (5), modify all detachable parts or replace if worn. Apply sealant to separation points to sealing surface. Place timing case (5) on the dowel pins (8) and drive on using a plastic mallet. Trim off any protruding seal exactly after installing timing case (5). | |
9 | Remove gasket (7) | Installation: Clean sealing surfaces and coat new seal (7) with sealant then attach to crankcase. | |
| Checking | ||
10 | Check thrust plate for camshaft for external wear by means of a visual inspection; replace if necessary | The thrust plate is located on inner side of timing case (5) and is attached with screw/bolts to timing case (5). The thrust plate determines camshaft end play. | |
