Drain engine oil

Engine oil and filter change

Remove all detachable parts on oil pan (1)

See MTU workshop manual.

Remove bolts (2) on oil pan (1) and remove oil pan (1)

Install

Clean sealing surfaces on crankcase (3) and oil pan (1) grease-free

Coat separation points on crankcase (3) with sealant (4)

Install seal for oil pan (1)

Install new seal (2).

Install oil pan (1) and screw in bolts (2)

First tighten bolts (2) at the corners diagonally.
Then screw down the remaining bolts (2).
As a last operation, retighten all bolts (2) to the nominal torque.

Install all detachable parts on oil pan (1)

Pour in engine oil through oil filler neck

In doing so observe all Specifications for Operating Fluids and operator's manual from MTU otherwise engine can be damaged.

Risk of accident caused by vehicle starting off by itself when engine is running. Risk of injury caused by contusions and burns during starting procedure or when working near a running engine

Secure vehicles to prevent it from moving by itself.

Wear closed and close-fitting work clothes.

Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Crank engine and check for leaks whilst it is running

Turn off engine

Check oil level after approx. 5 minutes and correct if necessary
