| Remove/install | ||
1 | Open right rear service flap | ||
2 | Remove exhaust flex pipe | ||
3 | Detach hose (1) from oil separator (2) | Slide hose (1) onto the pipe to the side. Check pipe for deposits, if necessary clean or replace. | |
4 | Detach oil separator (2) from timing case (3) | Collect escaping engine oil in a suitable vessel. | |
Installation: Replace sealing ring in flange (arrow) of oil separator (2). Reattach existing cable brackets to the threaded connection of the oil separator (2). | |||

5 | Install in the reverse order | ||
Danger! | Risk of accident as vehicle may start off by itself with the engine running. Risk of injury as working around the engine during start-up or while running may result in contusions and burns | Secure vehicle to prevent it from moving. | |
6 | Start engine and run at idling speed | ||
7 | Switch off engine and check oil separator (2) for leaks | In case of leakage, repeat steps 2 - 7. |
