1 | Remove draft stop (1) | Only with code (288) Draft stop for convertibles | |
2 | Open soft top | Lower soft top and leave soft top compartment cover upright. | |
3 | Switch off ignition | ||
4 | Remove cover behind rear seat backrest | ||
5 | Carefully disengage catch tabs (3) and remove cover (4) of head restraint drive | Risk of damage to wiring harness of Parktronic warning indicator (2). | |
Place wiring harness to one side with connected line. | |||
6 | Open locking clamp (5) and unhook cables (6) | For easier unhooking of the cables (6), pull the head restraints against the spring force up to the end stop. | |
7 | Disconnect electrical connector of retractable rear head restraints motor (M28/14) | ||
8 | Carefully pull retractable rear head restraints motor (M28/14) upward off of rubber mounts (7) | Installation: Ensure that retractable rear head restraints motor (M28/14) is seated correctly on rubber mounts (7). Noise development may occur otherwise. | |
9 | Install in the reverse order | Ensure that head restraints run parallel, set cable (6) at knurled screw at left cable if necessary |
