Remove rear-axle shaft (37)

 While working on the rear axle care must be taken to ensure that the surface of aluminum components do not get any scratches, cracks and notches. Otherwise the service life of the of the parts will be reduced.

Lever radial sealing ring (32a) out of rear axle differential (50) using a suitable tool

 To ensure leaktightness and proper seating, do not damage the seat surface of the radial sealing ring (32a).

Install

Using a drift (03) press a new radial sealing ring (32a) into the rear axle center assembly (50)

 Coat lip of radial sealing ring (32a) with universal hypoid gear oil.

Install new circlip (37o) on inner splined shaft of rear axle shaft (37)

Install rear axle shaft (37).

 While working on the rear axle care must be taken to ensure that the surface of aluminum components do not get any scratches, cracks and notches. Otherwise the service life of the of the parts will be reduced.

Check oil level in rear axle center assembly (50) and correct if necessary

 In order to avoid damage to the rear axle center assembly (50), it is absolutely essential to follow the work procedure and the Specifications for Operating Fluids.

 In the interest of better fuel economy, avoid mixing old universal hypoid gear oil with new FE hypoid gear oil.
