Jack up vehicle

Install clamping plates (054a) in spring compressor (054)

Attach spring compressor (054) to rear spring (1)

At least three coils must be clamped in order to compress the rear spring (1) sufficiently.

Risk of injury with trapped or crushed fingers when working on springs or spring-loaded components

Use only approved tensioning devices; additionally shield off hazardous area if necessary.
Inspect special tools for damage and proper operation (visual inspection).
Wear protective gloves.

Compress and remove rear spring (1)

Installation: Ensure that the rear spring (1) is properly seated.

Install in the reverse order

Adjust headlamps

Only if the springs are replaced.
