1 Unclip cover (5) from heater (A6) and disconnect connector (8) from coolant pump (A6m1).
2 Loosen screw (17), unhook bracket (13) and disconnect coolant pump (A6m1) from coolant hose (4).
3 Replace present pump cover with pump cover (23) with straight fitting.
Ensure that sealing ring (q) is seated properly.
4 Reconnect coolant pump (A6m1) to heater (A6).

5 Install threads in holes on right side (see arrows) with special screws (EJOT PT).
6 Cut M6 thread in left upper hole (11a).
Position heater (A6) to front with coolant pump (A6m1) as shown in figure.
Do not cutl thread over entire length of hole.

7 Remove electric intake fan motor control module (N76) from stud bolt and lay down to side.
8 Disconnect wiring harness (76) from electric intake fan motor (N76) and ground (left front spring dome) (W35).
9 Loosen mounting clamp (see arrow) and expose wiring harness (76).

10 Disconnect auxiliary fan connector (X64/7) and lay wiring harness (76) down to side.
Wiring harness will be installed later with new routing.

11 Position drilling template to spring dome and use stud bolts from removed electric intake fan motor control module as centering device.
12 Mark all three holes and drill with 77 mm dia. bit, deburr and apply corrosion protection agent.
Turn left front wheel to left outside and ensure that wheels are not damaged by drilling.

13 Cut off stud bolts (see arrows) and then apply corrosion protection agent.
14 Position heater (A6) on left front wheelhouse and screw with two special screws
(EJOT PT) (6) and one washer each hand-tight.
15 Install M6x25 mm screw (6b) to heater (A6) with washer, lock washer and spacer sleeve as shown in figure.
16 Align heater (A6) and tighten screws (6, 6b) with tightening torque .

17 Use electric intake fan motor (N76) control module as template and transfer hole pattern to wheelhouse.
Connector for wiring harness point toward front of vehicle.
18 Drill hole with 7 mm dia. bit, deburr and apply corrosion protection agent.
Turn left front wheel to left outside and ensure that wheels are not damaged by drilling.
19 Fasten one rubber-bonded metal buffer (see magnified section) to wheelhouse with washer and nut.
20 Fasten electric intake fan motor (N76) control module to rubber-bonded metal buffer.
Connector for wiring harness point toward front of vehicle.

21 Connect wiring harness (76) to electric intake fan motor control module (N76) and ground (left front spring dome) and route as shown in figure.
22 Transfer hole pattern for mounting clamp (see arrow) to wheelhouse and drill a hole with 5.5 mm dia. bit, deburr and apply corrosion protection agent.
Turn left front wheel to left outside and ensure that tire is not damaged by drilling.
23 Fasten mounting clamp with M6x20 screw and nut, whereby the screw head with washer is positioned in the wheelhouse (see magnified section).

24 Disconnect connector for auxiliary fan connector (X64/7) from fan shroud.
Otherwise length of wiring harness (76) is not sufficient!
25 Connect auxiliary fan connector (X64/7) and fasten with cable strap.
