Remove/install

Remove seat cushion of front passenger seat.

Unclip sensor mat (1) from seat frame.


Do not kink, crush or otherwise damage the hose of the sensor mat (1).
Otherwise malfunctions will occur.

 Dismantling tool

If the mounting clips are damaged,



Replace sensor mat (1).

Release and disconnect electrical connector(4).

Unclip pressure sensor line (2).


Do not kink, crush or otherwise damage the hose of the sensor mat (1).
Otherwise malfunctions will occur.

 Pay attention to installation position of corrugated hose and of Weight Sensing System (WSS) control unit (N110).

Lift sensor mat (1) and remove screw (3).

Guide out sensor mat (1) with front passenger seat occupancy recognition sensor (B41/1) and pressure sensor line (2).

 Installation: Make sure that the pressure sensor line (2) is routed correctly.

 Installation: The transport lock on new seat cushion must be removed.

 The sensor mat (1), the front passenger seat occupancy recognition sensor (B41/1) and the pressure sensor line (2) form a unit. Do not separate the unit and do not replace separately.

Install in the reverse order.

Initial startup

Perform commissioning of Weight Sensing System (WSS) control unit (N110).


