Remove/install

Remove seat-back lining (1) of left or right front seat

Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2  m)

Disconnect ground line (8) at starter battery and on-board electrical system battery

Unclip outer rear paneling (2) (arrows A)

Loosen backrest cover (3) at bottom and in the area of sidebag unit (5) (arrows B)

Remove bolt (7) at sidebag unit (5) and place ground line (8) to one side

 Bolt, sidebag unit to backrest frame

Release and disconnect electrical connection (9)

Remove sidebag unit (5)

 Installation: Insert sidebag unit (5) with hook (6) into backrest frame. Ensure that sidebag unit pocket (4) of backrest cover (3) is correctly seated.

Install in the reverse order



Check

Check and erase vehicle fault memory using the diagnostic system

When replacing sidebag unit (5).


