Remove

Remove cover of radiator grille and upper front crossmember

Mark installation position of hood catch (1)

Disconnect electrical connector (4)

Remove screw/bolts (2)

Remove engine hood catch (1)

 To do this, unhook hood cable (3).



Install

Install hood catch (1)

 To do this, hook in hood cable (3).

Screw in screw/bolts (2)

 Observe installation position of hood catch (1). Tighten screws (2) only after checking gap dimensions with torque.

Connect electrical connection(4)

Check

Check hood catch (1) for proper function

 To do this, engage rotary tumbler on hood catch (1) with suitable tool, then actuate release lever and check whether hood catch (1) opens and engages correctly.

Depending on findings



Adjust hood catch (1); to do this, loosen the screws again (2) and readjust the hood catch (1).

Check function of safety hook

 Close engine hood, then actuate release lever and check whether retaining hook arrests correctly.

Check gaps of engine hood
