 Danger !

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove/install

Remove bolts (2)

 Installation: Use a suitable screwdriver to position heat exchanger (1) through slots in cover (3) such that upper screws/bolts (2) can be fitted.

Remove cover (3)

 Installation: Install cover (3) after carrying out leak check on cooling system and function check on heat exchanger (1).

Disconnect electrical connector (4)

Clamp off coolant hoses (5, 6) with clamps

Remove coolant hoses (6, 7) from heat exchanger (1)


Collect coolant which flows out.
Otherwise escaping coolant may get into the seat base or beneath the floor panel, where it is impossible to remove.

 Installation: Check clamps (8), replace if necessary.

Seal coolant connections at heat exchanger (1) with suitable stop plugs

 Record plug

Remove heat exchanger (1) from vehicle

Install in the reverse order

Pour in coolant and bleed cooling system
