Remove

Remove upper engine cover.

Remove engine air intake duct upstream of air filter.

Remove engine air intake duct connecting flange from crossmember.

Discharge air conditioning system.

Disconnect ground line from battery.

Drain off coolant.

Remove coolant lines (10) from charge-air distributor, seal openings with suitable protective covers and place coolant lines (10) to one side.

Remove coolant hose (11) and seal openings with suitable protective covers.

Release and disconnect electrical connector (3).

Open protective covers (5).

Unscrew nuts (6) and remove electric lines.

Remove screw (2).

Remove low-pressure line (4), seal openings with suitable stop plugs and place low-pressure line (4) to one side.

Remove screw (7).

Remove high-pressure line (8), seal openings with suitable stop plugs and place high-pressure line (8) to one side.

 Record plug

Remove screws/bolts (1).

Remove electrical refrigerant compressor (A9/5) upward.



Install

Position electrical refrigerant compressor (A9/5) on engine and tighten screws (1) lightly by hand.

Tighten screws (1).

Connect electric lines and fasten nuts (6).

 Nut, 48 V subharness to refrigerant compressor/electric motor

Close protective covers (5).

Connect electrical connector (3) until it locks into place.

Attach high-pressure line (8) and fasten screw (7).

 Replace seal.

 Bolt, refrigerant line to refrigerant compressor

Attach low-pressure line (4) and tighten screw (2).

 Replace seal.

 Bolt, refrigerant line to refrigerant compressor

Attach coolant lines (10) to charge-air distributor.

Install coolant hose (11).

Attach engine air intake duct connecting flange to crossmember.

Install engine air intake duct upstream of air filter.

Fill in coolant.

Perform commissioning of electric refrigerant compressor (A9/5) with vehicle diagnosis system.

When replacing the electric refrigerant compressor (A9/5).



Perform engine test run and check air conditioning system for proper operation.
