Never perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated rooms. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been evacuated.

Remove/install

Discharge air conditioning system.

Detach charge air line and fasten outside the working area.

 Do not raise the vehicle. The charge air hose remains on the charge air line.

Remove poly-V-belt from belt pulley of refrigerant compressor (1).

Detach refrigerant lines (2) from refrigerant compressor (1).



Compressor oils (specification 362.1)

Seal refrigerant lines (2) and refrigerant compressor (1) immediately with suitable stop plugs.
Otherwise the air conditioning system can be damaged.

 To do this, remove screws/bolts (3).

 Installation: Replace sealing rings and moisten with compressor oil.

Disconnect electrical connection (4).

Raise vehicle.

Remove lower engine compartment paneling.

If installed.

Remove refrigerant compressor (1).

 To do this, remove the screw/bolts (5).

Install in the reverse order
