Never perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated areas. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been drained.

Drain air conditioning system

 Installation: Evacuate, refill and check air conditioner for proper operation and leaks.

Remove roof air conditioning cover

 Installation: Fit cover of roof air conditioning only after filling and checking the air conditioning.

Remove insulation (3) from left or right expansion valve (4)

Unscrew screw/bolt (5) and remove with retaining plate



Remove clips (6) and swivel vent grille (7) upwards and outwards slightly

Remove sealings (9) at front and rear

Remove screws/bolts (8)

Carefully pull evaporator temperature sensor (A32b2) from left evaporator (2) and route to one side

When removing left evaporator (2).

 Installation: When installing, move evaporator temperature sensor (A32b2) only up to the center of the left evaporator (2). Otherwise the left evaporator (2) may be damaged and it will need to be replaced.

Pull right evaporator (1) or left evaporator (2) with expansion valve (4) to the rear and off the refrigerant lines (10) and then remove

 Installation: Fit refrigerant lines (10) with new seals (11). Coat sealing rings (11) with compressor oil.



Seal off each opening of refrigerant lines (10) using stop plugs

Seal off each opening of expansion valve (4) using stop plugs

Rotate locks (13) through 90° and remove dust filter (12)

When replacing the right evaporator (1) or left evaporator (2).

 Installation: Note direction of installation of dust filter (12). The arrows on the dust filter (12) indicate the flow direction.

Remove expansion valve (4) from removed right evaporator (1) or left evaporator (2)

When replacing the right evaporator (1) or left evaporator (2).

 Installation: Replace sealing rings (14) on vaporizer tubes (15). Coat sealing rings (14) with compressor oil.



Replace fluid reservoir

 After completing the work at the open refrigerant circuit, the accumulator must be replaced.
