3 Expansion valve

4 Quick-release coupling

Danger!

Risk of explosion caused by welding or soldering work on closed air conditioning system. Risk of poisoning caused by inhaling overheated refrigerant vapors. Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by contact with liquid refrigerant.

Never perform welding work on or near a closed air conditioning system. No smoking or open flames. Wear safety glasses and protective gloves. Work only in well ventilated areas. Carry out repair work on the air conditioning system circuit only after the system has been discharged.

Remove underfloor paneling

Remove luggage compartment pan

Remove battery

Unscrew yoke plate nut (1) and detach pressure line (2)

Remove sealing ring of pressure line (2) at expansion valve (3)

Seal off refrigerant lines so that they cannot be penetrated by soiling or damp.

Remove rubber retainer from pressure line (2)

Release quick-release coupling (4) from pressure line (2)

Cutting tool set

Remove pressure line (2)

Unhook pressure line (2) from retaining clips.

Install

Position pressure line (2)

Connect pressure line (2) to quick-release coupling (4)

Fit sealing ring between pressure line (2) and expansion valve (3)

Fit pressure line (2) to expansion valve (3) and secure using yoke plate and yoke plate nut (1)

Fasten retaining rubber band on line clip of refrigerant lines

Install battery

Protect air conditioning circuit and components from moisture when carrying out repair work

Replace filter drier

Replace the fluid reservoir every time you open up the refrigeration circuit. When a receiver/dryer is left open, the dryer unit quickly becomes saturated with moisture, rendering it useless.
