| Remove/install | ||
1 | Discharge air conditioning system | Installation: Evacuate, refill and check air conditioner for leaks and proper operation.
2 | Remove wiper system | ||
3 | Fold cover (2) up until expansion valve (3) is accessible
4 | Unscrew nut (4) | | |
5 | Detach low-pressure line (5) and use suitable plug to seal opening of low-pressure line (5) | The opening of the low-pressure line (5) must be sealed, as otherwise penetrating dirt and moisture can damage the components connected to the refrigerant circuit.
Installation: Renew sealing ring of low-pressure line (5) and wet with compressor oil.
Set of plugs for air conditioning system
6 | Unscrew nut (6) | | |
7 | Detach high-pressure line (7), seal opening of high-pressure line (7) with suitable plug and openings of expansion valve (3) with suitable stop plugs | The opening of the high-pressure line (7) and openings of the expansion valve (3) must be sealed, as otherwise any penetrating dirt and moisture can damage components connected to the refrigerant circuit.
Installation: Renew sealing ring of high-pressure line (7) and wet with compressor oil.
Set of plugs for air conditioning system
8 | Remove heat exchanger shutoff motor and seal connection lines of heat exchanger with suitable plugs | The connection lines of the heat exchanger must be sealed, otherwise the vehicle interior will be soiled when removing the air conditioner housing (1).
Installation: Check and if necessary correct coolant level only after filling air conditioning.
9 | Remove crossmember below dashboard
10 | Detach rear air duct connector (8) from air conditioner housing (1)
11 | Disconnect electrical connector from evaporator temperature sensor (B10/6)
12 | Pull left front floor covering (9) to one side in area of air conditioner housing (1) and detach condensation drain hose (10) from air conditioner housing (1) | Ensure that condensation drain hose (10) is seated correctly at air conditioner housing (1), otherwise condensation cannot drain and enters vehicle interior.
Installation: Moisten connection fitting for condensation drain hose (10) at air conditioner housing (1) with liquid lubricant.
Antifriction agent | |||
13 | Pull right front floor covering (11) to one side in area of air conditioner housing (1) and detach condensation drain hose (12) from air conditioner housing (1) | Installation: Ensure that condensation drain hose (12) is seated correctly at air conditioner housing (1), otherwise condensation cannot drain and enters vehicle interior.
Installation: Moisten connection fitting for condensation drain hose (12) at air conditioner housing (1) with liquid lubricant.
Antifriction agent | |||
14 | Disconnect electrical connector (13) at blower regulator and expose electrical wiring harness (14) | Installation: Ensure that electric wiring harness (14) is routed correctly.
15 | Pull air conditioner housing (1) toward rear with the help of an assistant, guide out of left rear footwell air duct (15) and right rear footwell air duct (16) and set down | Installation: Ensure that air conditioner housing (1) is seated correctly in left rear footwell air duct (15) and right rear footwell air duct (16).
16 | Unclip electrical wiring harness (17) at top of air conditioner housing (1) | Installation: Ensure that electrical wiring harness (17) is routed correctly at air conditioner housing (1).
17 | Remove air conditioner housing (1) out of the vehicle with assistant | When removing or installing the vehicle's air conditioner housing (1), always do so with an assistant in order to avoid any damage to the interior and the air conditioner housing (1).
Installation: Replace sealing (18) and sealing (19).
