Low-temperature circuit switchover valve

 Warning

Risk of injury to skin and eyes suffering scalding from contact with hot coolantspray. Risk of poisoning from swallowing coolant.

Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.
Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove/install

1

Remove engine cover.

Disconnect electrical connectors (1, 2).

Clamp off coolant hoses (3, 4, 5, 6) at a suitable point.

Cover area under coolant hoses (3, 4, 5, 6) with suitable dry cloths.


Coolant must not enter into the surrounding electrical connections.
Otherwise they may be damaged.

Release and detach connections (7, 8, 9) of coolant hoses (3, 4, 5, 6) and seal openings with suitable stop plugs.

 Collect escaping coolant in suitable container.

Unscrew screws (10) and remove low-temperature circuit switchover valve (Y73/1).

Install in the reverse order.



Check

8

Check coolant level.



Perform bleeding routine for auxiliary circuit coolant using diagnostic device.


