 Warning

Injury hazard from pinching and crushing, in extreme cases extremities can even be cut off when caught in windshield wiper mechanism.

When working on the windshield wiper mechanism, always switch off the ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (at least 2 m).

Move wiper system from parked position

 To do this, switch on ignition (circuit 15 or circuit 15R) and turn wiper switch to position "2". If the driver-side wiper arm (1) and front passenger-side wiper arm (2) are located close to the reversing position, switch off ignition and turn wiper switch to position "0".

Position the driver-side wiper arm (1) and passenger-side wiper arm (2) by hand in the reversing position

 The reversing position of the driver-side wiper arm (1) corresponds to the distance between driver-side wiper blade and A-pillar (A) of approx. 50 mm.
The reversing position of the front passenger-side wiper arm (2) corresponds to the distance from the passenger-side wiper blade to the A-pillar (B) of approx. 390 mm.
For left-hand drive vehicles, measured from the upper wiper blade end of the driver-side wiper blade (1) and the front passenger side wiper blade (2) to the inside of the left A-pillar.
For right-hand drive vehicles, measured from the upper wiper blade end of the driver-side wiper blade (1) and the front passenger side wiper blade (2) to the inside of the right A-pillar.

Remove wiper blades


When working on raised driver-side wiper arm (1) or front passenger-side wiper arm (2), ensure that
it does not fall on the windshield. Otherwise, the windshield may be damaged.

Measure angle of incidence of driver-side wiper arm (1) and front passenger-side wiper arm (2) relative to windshield, record these check values and compare them with the set values

At the switch from reversing position to parked position, make sure that
that the driver-side wiper arm (1) and the front passenger-side wiper arm (2) do not make direct contact with windshield, otherwise this will become scratched.

Raise driver-side wiper arm (1) and front passenger-side wiper arm (2) and move them out of park position into the reversing position
