Do not touch damaged or defective live component parts and lines or non-insulated electrical connections and lines.

Risk of explosion/risk of fire caused by highly flammable materials in the vicinity of damaged xenon bulbs. Risk of injury caused by UV light, hot components on xenon headlamps and glass splinters produced by bursting xenon bulbs. Risk of poisoning caused by inhalation of mercury vapors and by swallowing of/skin contact with toxic salts and mercury compounds.

Do not touch parts conducting high voltage. Persons with active electronic implants (e.g. cardiac pacemakers) must never work on xenon headlamps. Switch off the entire lighting system. Wear insulated safety shoes, safety glasses and protective gloves. Remove highly inflammable materials from the danger zone. Ensure sufficient ventilation in the working area.

Disconnect battery ground line

On model 210 to prevent unintentional contact of disconnected ground line with ground point W10,
insulate cable lug of ground line.

Remove front bumper

Remove bolt (1)

Unscrew nut (8)

 Installation:
Align lamp unit so that
the distances between the fender and the closed engine hood are equal.

Unclip headlamp cleaning system feed line under lamp unit

With code 600 (Headlamp cleaning system).

Carefully pull out lamp unit (E1 or E2) towards the front

Disconnect electrical connections (2) from lamp unit (E1 or E2)

Disconnect vacuum line (3) of headlamp range adjustment

With pneumatic headlamp range adjustment.

Install in the reverse order

Carry out function check of lamp unit

Check/correct headlamp adjustment

With pneumatic headlamp range adjustment.


