 	Remove/install
1	Open engine hood
2	Remove retaining clips (4) and remove cover (5)	 Installation: Check retaining clips (4).
		If retaining clips (4) are damaged
		
		Replace corresponding retaining clip (4).
3	Disconnect electrical connection (3)
4	Lift catch hooks (arrows A) on cover (2) with suitable screwdriver and unclip cover (2) with engine hood switch (S62/41) in direction of arrow	 Installation: Ensure that hook (arrow B) and catch hooks (arrows A) are seated correctly on engine hood lock (1).
5	Install in the reverse order
	Check
6	Close engine hood lock (1) with suitable tool when engine hood is open and lock vehicle with remote control	 The anti-theft alarm system (ATA) is activated after approx. 10 seconds.
7	Open engine hood lock (1) with suitable tool	 This should trigger the alarm. The alarm can be switched off with the transmitter key when opening the vehicle.
