Remove/install

Loosen soft top compartment lid hydraulic cylinder (1) on lower mount and tie back toward rear.

 Do not disconnect hydraulic lines and electrical connectors.

Remove soft top mechanism hydraulic unit (A7/5) from soundproofing (2).

 Do not separate hydraulic lines.
Protect trunk against soiling.

 Installation: Observe line routing and check oil level for soft top mechanism hydraulic unit (A7/5).



Checking

Check screw bolts (3) for hydraulic oil exiting.

 To ensure proper function of the soft top mechanism hydraulic unit (A7/5), replace leaky screw bolts (3):



Unscrew leaky screw plugs (3)

 Installation: Select new screw plugs (3) from repair set according to screw plugs (3) unscrewed; otherwise, leakage can occur on the soft top mechanism hydraulic unit (A7/5).



Check oil level of hydraulic line, correct if necessary



Remove soundproofing (2)

Only if hydraulic oil leaked out of soft top mechanism hydraulic unit (A7/5).

Remove hydraulic oil in trunk on soft top mechanism hydraulic unit (A7/5) and soundproofing (2).

Only if hydraulic oil leaked out of soft top mechanism hydraulic unit (A7/5).
