Adjust Bowden cable for lock on C-pillar

Secure Vario roof with a suitable special tool.

Remove paneling from front Vario roof

Remove covering (10) from left and right C-pillar.

Completely close Vario roof with Vario roof switch

Lock front catch with 6 mm Allen wrench on emergency unlocking (4).

Adjust

Remove clip-type fasteners (2) from catch middle piece (5)

Press gate valve (3) toward front against stop on bolt (6). Then tighten Bowden cable core (1) and attach clip-type fastener (2)

 Press Bowden cable sleeve in direction of arrow with mounting wedge (8). This tensions the core of the Bowden cable (1).



Lock and unlock Vario roof a number of times with a 6 mm Allen wrench on emergency unlocking (4) on catch center section (5).

 The gate valve (3) is completely open when the front catch is unlocked.

Check adjustment dimension of Bowden cable (A), repeat adjustment if necessary

 With gate valve (3) completely open

Lock front catch with 6 mm Allen wrench on emergency unlocking (4).

Move Vario roof to intermediate position with Vario roof switch and secure.

 While opening the Vario roof, check whether the tip of the gate valve (3) touches the cam on the main guide (9).

If so, repeat adjustment.

Install

Install cover (10) on left and right C-pillar

 Insert mounting wedge (8) between covering (10) and gate valve (3) to prevent pulling covering (10) to gate valve (3).


