Remove

Remove headliner.

Remove damping above the screws (2).

Secure liftgate (1) with support.

Lay a rag between bodyshell and liftgate (1) to protect against paint damage.

Make installation markings on hinge (3) and liftgate (1).

Unscrew screw/bolts (4).


If both hinges (3) are to be removed, the second hinge (3) should only be removed after installing the first hinge (3).
Otherwise, the liftgate (1) can be damaged or the adjustment of the liftgate (1) can be changed.

 Bolt, hinge to body-in-white

Make installation markings on the hinge (3) and bodyshell.

Remove screws (2) and hinge (3).


If both hinges (3) are to be removed, the second hinge (3) should only be removed after installing the first hinge (3).
Otherwise, the liftgate (1) can be damaged or the adjustment of the liftgate (1) can be changed.



Install

Please hinge (3) against bodyshell and tighten screws (2).

 Observe the installation markings in the hinge (3) and bodyshell.

Tighten screws (4) on liftgate (1).

 Observe the installation markings on the hinge (3) and liftgate (1).

Remove rag.

Remove support from liftgate (1).



Check

Check gap dimensions of liftgate (1), and adjust if necessary.
