No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area when the components are moving.

Remove

Remove bellows (1) from bracket (2).

Unclip the bracket (2) from the D-pillar.

Pull electrical connectors (3) out of D-pillar and disconnect them.

 The number of electrical connectors (3) varies depending on the vehicle equipment.

Mark the position of the hinges (5) on the rear-end door (4).

Attach the lifting device to the rear-end door (4).



Carefully handle lifting device.
Otherwise, the paintwork and/or the rear lamp unit will be damaged.

Unscrew the screws (6) and use the lifting device to remove the rear-end door (4) from the hinges (5).



Install

Use the lifting device to position the rear-end door (4) on the hinges (5) and tighten the screws (6) slightly by hand.



Align the hinges (5) on the markings on the rear-end door (4) and tighten the screws (6) until the rear-end door (4) has been attached to the hinges (5).

 Tighten the screws (6) after adjusting them to the prescribed torque.

Remove the lifting device from the rear-end door (4).


Carefully handle lifting device.
Otherwise, the paintwork and/or the rear lamp unit will be damaged.

Insert the bracket (2) into the bellows (1).

Connect the electrical connectors (3) and slide them into the D-pillar.

Clip the bracket (2) together with the bellows (1) into the D-pillar.

Adjust

Adjust the rear-end door (4).

Repair paint damage on bolts (6).



Check

15

Perform a function test of the electrical components in the rear-end door (4).
