Remove/install

Remove engine cover.

 Installation: Only install engine cover after the leak test.

Release and disconnect electrical connector (3).

Expose electric line (4) of NOx sensor upstream of diesel oxidation catalytic converter (1).

Remove screws (5).

 Screw, NOx control unit to diesel oxidation catalytic converter

Unscrew NOx sensor upstream of diesel oxidation catalytic converter (1) and remove together with NOx sensor control unit upstream of diesel oxidation catalytic converter (2).

Note on calculation of tightening torque when using insertion or socket tools with various effective lengths

 Installation: Coat thread on NOx sensor upstream of diesel oxidation catalytic converter (1) with heat-resistant lubricating paste.

Install in the reverse order

Connect vehicle diagnosis system and adjust software calibration number in CDI control unit.

If NOx sensor upstream of diesel oxidation catalytic converter (1) is replaced.



Read out and delete fault memory.



Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform an engine test run and check diesel oxidation catalytic converter (6) for leaks in area of NOx sensor upstream of diesel oxidation catalytic converter (1).
