Remove/install

Drain fuel tank with fuel pump.

If fuel pump is intact.

Empty fuel tank using tank emptying device.

With defective fuel pump.

Remove left rear wheel and tire assembly.

Remove fender liner in rear left fender.

Remove tank filler recess.

Release sealing boot (1) from body and slide downwards.

 Installation: Check sealing boot (1) for damage, replace if necessary.

Unclip AdBlue® filler neck (2) from filler neck (3).

Remove nuts (4) at filler neck (3).

Unclip line (5) from bracket (8).

Remove trim from rear axle carrier.

Release and disconnect line (5) from connection (6) at fuel tank.

Remove fuel hose (7) from filler neck (3) and seal with plug.

 Installation: When replacing filler neck (3), also replace fuel hose (7) and clamps.

Pull filler neck (3) out of sealing boot (1) and remove.

Seal exposed connections using suitable protective covers and stop plugs.

Check all removed components for damage and replace if necessary.

Install in the reverse order.



Check fuel tank and connections for leak tightness and eliminate any leaks.
