Only pour fuels into suitable and appropriately marked containers.

Wear protective clothing when handling fuel.

Bring Vario roof into the Rep position

Actuate Vario roof switch until the trunk lid is opened. Then unlock trunk lid over buckle and swivel upwards.

Remove trunk blind

Remove trim panel of fuel tank as well as right and left side trim panel for trunk

Remove fuel tank partition wall (80/1)

Check insulation mat (80/4); replace if necessary.

Installation: Ensure that the hydraulic lines for the Vario roof is not pinched.

Detach clutch fuel level indicator sensor

Detach fuel hose on the suction side (90/12), fuel return hose (90/11) and vent line (92)

Collect remaining fuel, seal connections

Take out fuel tank (80)

Check seal boot (75/4); replace if necessary.

Remove fuel strainer (26)

Clean and check reusability

The splash bowl in the fuel tank is secured against turning with 2 pins. It is attached together with the fuel strainer (26)

Replace O-ring (26/1)

Oil to facilitate installation

Install in the reverse order

Dispose of fuel tank
