1 | Refuel vehicle | Refuel according to operator's manual. | |
2 | Disconnect fuel line (1) at fuel filter (70) | Collect escaping fuel. | |
3 | Connect hose of diesel breather pump to fuel filter (70) | ||
4 | Generate power supply | Put plug of diesel bleeding device into the cigar lighter. | |
5 | Bleed fuel system | Bleed fuel system with diesel breather pump | |

6 | Perform venting | The ventilation procedure is carried out as long as necessary, until no air bubbles are present in the diesel. | |
7 | Remove diesel breather pump | ||
8 | Connect fuel line (1) at fuel filter (70) | ||
9 | Carry out starting test | If diesel breather pump is non-existant. | |
10 | Refuel fuel filter (70) with fuel | In order to assist the fuel suction procedure, the fuel filter has to be refueled with fuel. | |
11 | Start engine | For this step a longer starting test is carried out with a maximum period of 1 minute. Note: After this starting test, it is absolutely necessary to take a break of 5 minutes. | |
Transmission 722.5 Note: On vehicles with transmission 722.5, the starting test is interrupted after maximum 30 seconds with the help of the electric choke system. | |||
Transmission 716.5 Note: The starting procedure must be terminated after maximum 40 seconds. |
