Remove/install

Lower front axle carrier with rack-and-pinion steering.

Remove noise encapsulation (1) on left or right.

Detach lower transverse control arm far enough until boot (4) is accessible.

Remove left or right tie rod.

Open clamps (2, 4) and remove boot (4).

 Installation: Grease seat of boot (4) on housing of steering gear before installation.

If the boot (4) is damaged,



Replace boot (4).

Install in the reverse order.
