Remove/install

Remove corresponding wheel and tire assembly.

Remove rear section of front fender liner.

Remove nut (3) and unhook torsion bar linkage.


Counterhold the ball head and do not use an impact wrench/driver.
Otherwise the ball head gets damaged.

Unclip retaining clip (6) from left front level sensor (B22/8) or right front level sensor (B22/9).

Remove nut (4) from supporting joint.

Note on calculation of tightening torque when using insertion or socket tools with various effective lengths

Remove bolts (7, 8).

 Screw/bolt, transverse control arm bearing to front axle carrier

Remove anti-twist lock (9) at nut of screw (2).

Remove bolt (2).

 Screw/bolt, transverse control arm to front axle carrier

Remove transverse control arm (1) from front axle carrier.



Check

Check seal bellows (5) on supporting joint.

If damage is present,



Replace transverse control arm (1).



Clean

Clean centering cone on supporting joint of transverse control arm (1).

 There must be no oil or grease on the centering cone and on the thread.

Install in the reverse order.



Measure

Perform chassis alignment.
