Risk of injury to skin or eyes caused by hydraulic fluid spraying out under high pressure. Risk of poisoning caused by swallowing hydraulic fluid

Depressurize hydraulic system completely before starting any work on system. Wear protective clothing and safety glasses.

Remove air intake hose (2)

Suction off oil out of power steering expansion reservoir (3)

 The area surrounding the separation point should be cleaned thoroughly before opening the hydraulic system. Even the smallest dirt particles, introduced into the hydraulic components, can lead to malfunctions and a total failure of the hydraulic system.

 Hand pump

Remove bolt (4) and detach pressure line (1) from
power steering pump (5)

 Collect escaping oil with a rag and plug line connections.

 Set of stop plugs

 Installation: Replace sealing ring.



Remove center section of the lower engine compartment paneling

 Installation: Only install engine compartment paneling after the leak test.

Remove bolt (6) and detach pressure line (1) from oil pan (7)



Remove bolt (8) and detach pressure line (1) from rack-and-pinion steering (9) then remove downwards

 Collect escaping oil with a rag and plug line connections.

 Set of stop plugs

 Installation: Replace sealing ring.

Install in the reverse order

Fill and bleed power steering pump (5).

Check oil level in expansion reservoir (3) of power steering, correct if necessary
