| Remove | ||
1 | Remove steering column tube. | ||

Do not disconnect the electrical connector from the electric steering lock (1). | |||
2 | Remove screw/bolt (2). | ||
3 | Connect ground line of on-board electrical system battery. | ||
Do not install trim. | |||
4 | Switch on ignition to stage 1. | This releases the electric steering lock (1). | |
5 | Disconnect electrical connector from electrical connection (4). | ||
6 | Switch off ignition. | ||
7 | Detach ground line of on-board electrical system battery. | ||
8 | Remove steering column tube with electric steering lock (1). | ||
9 | Remove electric steering lock (1). | To do so, release locks (3, 5) using a suitable tool. | |
| Install | ||
10 | Install electric steering lock (1) into steering column tube. | ||
11 | Screw in bolt (2). | Screw, electric steering lock control unit to steering column tube | |
12 | Install steering column tube (3). | ||
13 | Connect vehicle diagnosis system and perform commissioning. | When replacing the electric steering lock (1). | |
| Connect/disconnect diagnostic unit | ||
| Check | ||
14 | Check function of electric steering lock (1). | To do so, turn steering wheel with the ignition switched off. |
