Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Connect vacuum tester (1) to brake booster

Start engine

Read off measurement value

 Keep engine idling for at least 30 seconds and read off the measured value on the vacuum tester (1).

Vacuum in hose after engine has been running for 30 seconds

In the event of a deviation from the permissible value, check vacuum lines and replace vacuum pump if necessary.



Remove/install vacuum pump.

Turn off engine

Disconnect vacuum tester (1) from brake booster
