Remove luggage compartment pan

Disconnect battery ground line

Push down brake pedal several times

 In order to reduce the vacuum in the brake booster.

Detach vacuum line from brake booster

Remove hydraulic module (2).

Clean hydraulic unit (2) and ESP control unit (N47-5)

Clean the hydraulic unit (2) and ESP control unit (N47-5) carefully in order to avoid damage due to contamination when separating the components.

Unscrew bolts (1) on ESP control unit (N47-5)

 Installation: Observe the tightening procedure.

Raise hydraulic unit (2) slightly and carefully remove ESP control unit (N47-5)

 It is essential to pay attention to cleanliness. No dirt may enter the ESP control unit (2) and the hydraulic unit (N47-5), otherwise its function may be impaired.

 Installation: Clean sealing surfaces on the hydraulic unit (2) and on the ESP control unit (N47-5).

Check gasket, replace if necessary.

Do not tilt ESP control unit (N47-5) when positioning.

Install in the reverse order

Perform ESP control unit (N47-5) diagnosis



Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory
