It is not necessary to change all brake lines each time they are disconnected; observe color coding

Stage 5

 	Remove/install
 Danger!	Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.	Align vehicle between the columns of the lifting platform and position the four support plates at the lifting platform support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.	AS00.00-Z-0010-01A
1	Raise vehicle with lifting platform	 When positioning lifting platform observe recesses in covers.
2	Remove underbody		AR61.30-P-1001RR
3	Open front hood
4	Remove luggage compartment tray
	Check
5	Check color codings of brake lines	 See: 
		Mark brake lines	AR42.10-P-0013-05SM
		"Yellow" locking paint	*BR00.45-Z-1027-07A
		"Red" safety paint	*BR00.45-Z-1028-07A
6	Undo locking lever (3) and disconnect connector (4) from ESP control unit (N47-5)
7	Disconnect plug (1) from ESP brake pressure sensor (B34/2) and unscrew ESP brake pressure sensor (B34/2)		*BA42.45-P-1004-01F
8	Unscrew threaded connection of brake line (5, 6), front brake line (7, 7.1) and rear brake line (8, 8.1) at ESP hydraulic unit (2)	 Installation: Do not damage the threads when positioning the threaded connections as the resulting chippings could cause the entire brake system to fail.
		 Installation: Make sure that the brake lines are not bent, are routed correctly, do not leak and do not rest against the body.

9.1	Fit new brake line	 Only if one of the brake lines with red color coding has been unscrewed from its threaded connection. See: 	AR42.10-P-0017RL
		Mark brake lines	AR42.10-P-0013-05SM

		"Red" safety paint	*BR00.45-Z-1028-07A
10	Unscrew nuts (9) and remove bracket (11) with ESP hydraulic unit (2)		*BA42.45-P-1007-01F
11	Remove frame (10) from bracket (11) and remove ESP hydraulic unit (2)	 When doing so, take care not to damage the locking device (arrow).
12	Install in the reverse order
13	Bleed brake system		AR42.10-P-0010RR
14	Carry out transposition check
	Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory		AD00.00-P-2000-04RR
		STAR DIAGNOSIS diagnosis system	*WH58.30-Z-1048-13A
15	Check brake system for leaks		AR42.10-P-0100-01RR
