| Remove/install | ||
1 | Perform commissioning of regenerative brake system control unit (N308). | Only when replacing the hydraulic unit (7).
| |||
The regenerative brake system control unit (N30/8) is part of the hydraulic unit (7).
2 | Switch off ignition and store transmitter key outside of transmission range (min. 2 m).
3 | Remove cover over brake fluid reservoir.
4 | Remove nuts (1) and place engine fuse and relay module (K40/8) with connected electric lines to one side.
| Clean | ||
5 | Clean hydraulic unit (7) in area of brake line connections.
Only use clean, lint free rags and cleaner free of mineral oil. Do not use any compressed air for cleaning when the brake system is open.
Assembly cleaner | |||
6 | Release and disconnect electrical connector (2) from regenerative brake system control unit (N30/8).
| |||
| |||
7 | Mark brake lines (3) relative to the corresponding connection on the hydraulic unit (7).
8 | Remove brake lines (3) from hydraulic unit (7) and seal connections with stop plugs.
Note on calculation of tightening torque when using insertion or socket tools with various effective lengths
| |||
Route the brake lines (3) such that they are free of tension and do not chafe against adjacent parts. Pay attention to marking.

9 | Pull hydraulic unit (7) together with regenerative brake system control unit (N30/8) up and out of elastomer bearings (4). | Installation: Make sure that the studs (arrows) of the bracket (5) are correctly seated in the elastomer bearings (4).
10 | Remove screw (6) and take off holder (5). | Only when replacing the hydraulic unit (7).
Screw/bolt, bracket to traction system hydraulic unit
11 | Install in the reverse order.
12 | Bleed brake system. | ||
13 | Read out and erase fault memory using the diagnostic system.
