Shorten lines of new rpm sensor to match length of lines for remove rpm sensor.

Remove line sheathing for a length of approx. 40 mm.

Shorten black line of one end of the line and the brown line of the other end of the line by approx. 20 mm.

Strip all lines to a length of approx. 5 mm.

Slip heat-shrinkable tube over lines of rpm sensor.

 The heat-shrinkable tube is available in the  basic wiring harness repair kit Basis or the  passenger car wiring harness repair kit supplement.

Fit line ends with identical color into a heat-shrinkable sleeve each.

 The heat-shrinkable sleeves are available in the  basic wiring harness repair kit or the  passenger car wiring harness repair kit supplement.

Crimp heat-shrinkable sleeves using  crimper.

Heat up heat-shrinkable sleeves using heat gun until they are fully shrunk and adhesive leaks out.

 The heat-shrinkable sleeves must not be overheated.
Otherwise discoloration, blisters or scorch marks will appear, whereupon the heat-shrinkable sleeves may tear during the shrinking process.

Slide heat-shrinkable tube over repair point, and heat using heat gun from inside outwards until the heat-shrinkable tube makes contact with the lines.
