Clamp propeller shaft piece by joint fork, with propeller shaft intermediate bearing (6) upward, in vise.


Use soft vise jaws.

Detach propeller shaft intermediate bearing (6).


To do so, position puller with puller arms on protective ring (7), as shown.
Pull off protective rings (5, 7) together with propeller shaft intermediate bearing (6).
Dispose of protective rings (5, 7) and propeller shaft intermediate bearing (6).

Install new protective ring (7) using drift.

Protective rings (5, 7) are different. Observe installation position of protective ring (7).
Otherwise, malfunctions, noise and damage can occur.

Install new propeller shaft intermediate bearing (6) using drift.

Observe the installation position of the propeller shaft intermediate bearing (6). The collar (arrow A) points away from the joint fork.
Otherwise, malfunctions, noise and damage can occur.

Drive on propeller shaft intermediate bearing (6) only up to end stop.
Otherwise, malfunctions, noise and damage can occur.

For this, drive on propeller shaft intermediate bearing (6) completely.

Install protective ring (5) of propeller shaft intermediate bearing (6) using drift.

Protective rings (5, 7) are different. Observe installation position of protective ring (5).
Otherwise, malfunctions, noise and damage can occur.

Drive on protective ring (5) only up to end stop.
Otherwise, malfunctions, noise and damage can occur.

Remove propeller shaft piece from vise.
