Danger!

Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between columns of vehicle lift and position four support plates at vehicle lift support points specified by vehicle manufacturer.

 Installation

Only tighten nuts and bolts of chassis components when vehicle is in a ready-to-drive condition.

Hoist vehicle with lifting platform until wheels are free

Depressurize rear suspension strut (6j) using STAR DIAGNOSIS

Remove rear wheel



Remove/install wheels, rotate if necessary

Detach tie rod (4) from wheel carrier (7)

 Installation: Raise wheel carrier (7) using transmission jack and transmission platform, until the rear axle shaft (37) is almost horizontal, then tighten all slack bolted connections.

Detach and remove tie rod (4) from rear axle carrier (1)

 Installation: Screw tie rod (4) loosely onto rear axle carrier (1).

The eccentrics (4d) of the bolted connection must engage in the support reinforcement (1e).



Checking

Check tie rod (4)

 Check for wear on joint (4a), boot (4b) and rubber mount (4c), if necessary: 

Replace tie rod (4).

Install in the reverse order

Check and adjust toe on rear axle
