Installation | Replace self-locking nuts | ||
1 | Remove front wheels | ||
2 | Remove drag link (5) at pitman arm (6) | ||
3 | Discharge compressed-air system | To do so, pull the vent valve on the compressed air reservoir. | |
4 | Detach compressed air line (9) from diaphragm cylinder | | |
5 | Detach ABS sensor connectors (10) and expose lines | ||
6 | Remove shock absorbers (12) on front axle | | |
7 | Remove anti-roll bar (1) | ||
8 | Secure front axle against falling down | Use a jack or inspection pit lift. | |
9 | Remove the spring brackets (11) of both leaf springs | | |
10 | Lower front axle and pull out from under the vehicle | ||
11 | Install in the reverse order | ||

12 | Start engine and fill compressed-air system up to the cutoff pressure | ||
13 | Turn off engine | ||
14 | Check steering locks, adjust if necessary |
