Remove

Remove trim at bottom for center instrument panel.

Remove trim from vertical strut.

Model 447.6/7 except code FF1 (Center console with stowage compartment) except code FF2 (Center console with 1-DIN slot) except code FG0 (Luxury center console with roller blind)

Remove holder (2).

 To do so, unscrew nuts (3).

Use suitable tool to remove ball sockets (4) of shift cables (5) from ball heads on gearshift lever.

Detach shift cables (5) from bearing bracket (1).

Detach electrical connector (6) from backup light switch.

 Do not remove backup light switch.

Remove electrical wiring harness from bearing bracket (1).

Remove gearshift lever with bearing bracket (1).

 To do so, unscrew nuts (7).



Install

Install gearshift lever with bearing bracket (1).

 Nut, bearing bracket to instrument panel crossmember

Attach electrical wiring harness to bearing bracket (1).

Connect electrical connector (6) to backup light switch.

Model 447 with engine 622.9 with transmission 700.7

Connect shift cables (5) to bearing bracket (1).

Attach ball sockets (4) of shift cables (5) to ball heads on gearshift lever.

Install holder (2).

 Nut, bracket to cross member

Adjust shift cables (5).

Install center console.
