Mount insertion/extractor device, hydraulic cylinder (3), adapter (4, 5), pipe adapter (6), gripper (7), and detach tapered roller bearing (2) from the drive shaft (1)

Assemble

Check meshing (arrow A) and bearing surface of radial shaft sealing ring (arrow B) on the drive shaft (1) for signs of damage and wear

 If damaged or worn replace the drive shaft (1).

 Danger!

Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by handling hot or glowing objects.

Wear safety gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses, if necessary.

Heat tapered roller bearing (2) up to approx. 100 °C and slide onto the drive shaft (1)

 Reposition tapered roller bearing (2) with axial clearance, using a suitable drift.
If a new tapered roller bearing (2) is installed, the tapered roller bearing outer race in the front part of the transmission housing also has to be replaced.
