Remove

Remove front section of transmission housing (1)

Disassemble

Remove tab washers (3)

 For this purpose, remove bolts (4).

Remove oil duct (5)

Press out input shaft (2)

 Commercially available tools
- Workshop press.

Remove retaining ring (8)

Press off grooved ball bearing (7)

 Commercially available tools
- Workshop press.

Remove radial shaft sealing ring of drive shaft (2)

Remove bearing (6)

 Drift

Clean

Clean seats and bearing seats

 Use a clean and lint-free rag.



Assemble

Press grooved ball bearing (7) onto drive shaft (2)

 The chamfer on the outer bearing race must point toward the gear.
Commercially available tools
- Workshop press.

Install retaining ring (8)

 Install new retaining ring (8).

Check and adjust play between grooved ball bearing (7) and retaining ring (8)

Axial play between drive shaft bearing and retaining ring

Press in drive shaft (2) as far as the end stop in the front section of the transmission housing (1)

 Commercially available tools
- Workshop press.

 Drift

Press in bearing (6) to end stop

 The chamfer on the outer bearing race must point up (toward the output side).

Install oil duct (5)

Install tab washers (3)

 Replace screws/bolts (4).

 Screw/bolt, locking plate for countershaft bearing, main shaft bearing or drive shaft bearing to transmission housing
