Risk of injury to skin and eyes due to handling of transmission oil. Health risk caused by swallowing transmission oil

Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses.
Do not pour transmission oil into beverage bottles.

Remove/install

Remove bottom engine compartment paneling.

 Installation: Install lower engine compartment lining only after checking oil level.

Remove corresponding front axle shaft.

Pry corresponding radial shaft sealing ring (1) out of transmission (2) using a suitable tool.



Gear oils (Sheet 235.10)

Do not damage sitting surface of radial shaft sealing ring (1).
Otherwise leaks may occur.

 Installation: Moisten sealing lip of radial shaft sealing ring (1) with transmission oil.

Clean sitting surface of radial shaft sealing ring (1) using a rag and check for damage.

If damage is found,



replace transmission (2).

Install in the reverse order.

Check and correct oil level in transmission (2).
