Assemble transmission housing

 Warning

Risk of injury. Moving parts can pinch, crush or, in extreme cases even sever extremities.

No parts of the body or limbs should be within the operating area of mechanical components when moving components.

Install differential (7).

Assemble main shafts (10, 11) and countershaft (9) and tie together using cable ties at a suitable point.

Install main shafts (10, 11) together with countershaft (9).

 Install main shafts (10, 11) with countershaft (9) carefully.
Otherwise, the oil deflector (8) or the bearing of the countershaft (9) may be damaged.

 To do so, lift up differential (7) slightly.
Make sure that gear pairings mesh with each other.
Aid of helper required.

Install shift forks (13a, 13b) of main shaft (11) for 1st to 4th gear with shift axle (13).

 Observe installation position of shift forks (13a, 13b) in corresponding sliding sleeves of main shaft (11).

Install shift forks (12a, 12b) of main shaft (10) for 5th and 6th gear and reverse gear with shift axle (12).

 Observe installation position of shift forks (12a, 12b) in corresponding sliding sleeves of main shaft (10).

Apply sealing compound all the way round to sealing surface (A) of front section of transmission housing (1).

 The sealing surface (A) must be clean and free of oil and grease.
Otherwise adhesion problems and leaks can occur.

 Apply adhesive bead of sealant with a diameter of 3 mm.

Attach rear section of transmission housing (1) to front section of transmission housing (5).

 Install magnet (6) at the same time.
Aid of helper required.

Screw in screws (3) and tighten lightly by hand.

Screw in screws (4) and tighten lightly by hand.

Swivel transmission so that rear section of transmission housing (5) faces downwards.

Screw in screws (2) and tighten slightly by hand.

Tighten screw/bolts (2) in a crosswise pattern. 

Swivel transmission so that rear section of transmission housing (5) is raised.

Fully tighten screw/bolts (3)  .

Tighten screws/bolts (4)  .

Check through the installation opening of the shift tower if the shift fork (12a) lines up with shift fork (13a), shift fork (12b) and shift fork (13b). as shown.

 The shift forks (12a, 12b, 13a, 13b) must line up.
Otherwise the shift tower cannot be installed at a later stage without being damaged.

If (12a, 12b, 13a, 13b) do not line up with each other,



correct corresponding shift fork (12a, 12b, 13a, 13b).
