Remove

Remove axle drive module (5).

Expose major assembly carrier (2) in the area of the vibration dampers (1).

Mark installation position of vibration dampers (1) relative to the major assembly carrier (2) (arrows c).

Attach pull-off device to the vibration damper (1).

 To press out the vibration damper (1), the sleeve (01) and the thrust sleeve (04) from the  extraction and insertion tool set are needed.

 Ensure that the sleeve (01) and thrust sleeve (04) are seated correctly.

Press out the vibration dampers (1).


Ensure that the thrust sleeve (04) is flush with the hollow piston cylinder (3).
Damage can occur otherwise when pressing out.

 The vibration damper (1) is pressed with the thrust sleeve (04) from left to right out of the major assembly carrier (2) using the hand pump (4) (arrow B).

Install

Transfer markings (arrows c) of the installation position of the axle drive module (5) of the front axle from the old vibration dampers (1) to the new vibration dampers (1).


The axle drive module (5) must be positioned based on these markings during reinstallation.
Damage to the axle drive module (5) or drive shafts may otherwise occur.

Attach insertion device to the vibration damper (1).

 replace vibration damper (1).

 To press in the vibration damper (1), the thrust piece (02) and the pressure disk (03) from the  extraction and insertion tool set are required.

 Ensure that the thrust piece (02) is seated correctly and that the position of the pressure disk (03) is correct.

Press in vibration damper (1).

 The vibration damper (1) is pressed in from right to left (arrow A) using a hand pump (4) and pressure disk (03) until the pressure disk (03) makes contact with the major assembly carrier (2).
