Remove/install

Remove engine cover.

 Installation: Do not install engine cover until after the leak test.

Drain off coolant.

Unclip electric lines (2, 3) from the brackets (1.1, 1.2) and place to one side.

Open clamp (4) and detach coolant hose (5) from the bleed line (1).

 Hose clamp pliers

Seal coolant hose (5) with suitable stop plugs.

 Record plug

Open thermal insulation (6).

Remove screw (7).

 Screw, bleed line for coolant feed line to high-pressure exhaust gas recirculation valve

Open clamp (8).

 Hose clamp pliers

Detach bleed line (1) from the coolant feed line for the high-pressure exhaust gas turbocharger (9) and remove upward.

Seal coolant feed line for high-pressure exhaust gas turbocharger (9) with a suitable stop plug.

 Record plug

Install in the reverse order



Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform engine test run and check coolant circuit in the area of the bleed line (1) for leak tightness.
