Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90 °C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers.

Remove/install

1

Remove front and center engine compartment linings.

 Installation: Only install engine compartment paneling after leak test.

Drain off coolant.

Remove engine air intake duct upstream of air filter.

Remove coolant hoses from electric coolant pump (M75/11) and seal openings with protective covers.

Release and disconnect electrical connector (1) and unclip electric line from electric coolant pump (M75/11).

Unclip subharness (2) from electric coolant pump (M75/11).

Remove screws (3).

 Screw, coolant pump to timing case/crankcase/oil pan

Remove electric coolant pump (M75/11).



Check

Check elastomer bearings of electric coolant pump (M75/11) for damage.

If damage is present,



replace elastomer bearing.

Install in the reverse order.

 Warning

Risk of accident from vehicle starting off by itself when engine running. Risk of injury (bruises and burns) resulting from working on the engine while it is being started or when it is running.

Secure vehicle to prevent it from starting off by itself. Wear closed and snug-fitting work clothes. Do not touch hot or rotating parts.

Perform engine test run. While doing so, check engine for proper operation and leak tightness.
