Danger! | Risk of injury to skin and eyes caused by scalding from contact with hot coolant spray. | Do not open cooling system unless coolant temperature is below 90°C. Open cap slowly and release the pressure. Do not pour coolant into beverage containers. Wear protective gloves, protective clothing and safety glasses. | |

1 | Remove maintenance flap | ||
2 | Turn cap on engine coolant expansion reservoir a half turn counterclockwise, relieve pressure and then unscrew the cap | ||
3 | Remove interior flap above engine | ||
4 | Lay fuel lines (1) in the area of the coolant temperature sensor (B11/4) to one side | ||
5 | Disconnect electrical connector (2) at coolant temperature sensor (B11/4) | ||
6 | Detach safety clip (3) and take off | ||
7 | Pull coolant temperature sensor (B11/4) out of coolant thermostat (4) | Installation: Replace sealing ring (5) on coolant temperature sensor (B11/4). | |
8 | Install in the reverse order | ||
9 | Read out fault memory, erase if necessary | When replacing the coolant temperature sensor (B11/4). | |
| Connect STAR DIAGNOSIS and read out fault memory |
