Risk of death caused by vehicle slipping or toppling off of the lifting platform.

Align vehicle between vehicle lift columns and position the four support plates at the vehicle lift support points specified by the vehicle manufacturer.

Remove/install

Detach ground line of on-board electrical system battery.

Raise vehicle.

Remove lower engine compartment lining.

If installed.

Release tension on poly-V-belt and remove from alternator belt pulley (1).

Pin for locking poly-V belt tensioning device

Check

Check poly-V-belt for wear and damage.

Depending on the findings,



replace poly-V belt.

Remove/install poly-V belt

Remove cover (2).

Remove electric line (3) from alternator (1).

 Nut, electrical line to alternator

Disconnect electrical connection (4).

Remove lower screws (5).

 Screw/bolt, alternator to crankcase

Remove upper screws (6) and remove alternator (1).

 Screw/bolt, alternator to crankcase

Check

Check contact surface and freewheel of belt pulley for damage.

Depending on the findings,



Replace alternator belt pulley (1).

Remove/install alternator belt pulley
